Henley SLSC is extremely lucky to have been given such an incredible opportunity to paddle a kayak, learn and develop some new skills and gain some confidence in a new craft. This amazing opportunity came about through our Ski Captain, Scott Robinson and Canoe South Australia’s Regional Pathway Coach/Coordinator Peter Gargiulo who is also a new Henley SLSC member.
Scott and Peter are both very excited and eager about encouraging members to develop their skills and confidence in kayaks with a vision to one day transferring this to paddling a ski for Henley at local, state and national levels. Scott is always on the lookout for new ski paddlers to join the weekly training at Henley SLSC.

It was wonderful to see our members keen to give it a go, listen and follow instructions both on the land and in the water before heading out onto the lake under Peter’s magnificent instruction and care. Of course there was the obligatory clean-up of the craft at the end of the session, which was done perfectly.
Congratulations to our Henley members for their participation and representing the club exceptionally well. It was a fantastic day and it was clear to see that everyone had a great time. Thank you to Peter for offering this wonderful day and coaching our members. We truly appreciate your efforts and time.
There will be further Come N Try sessions on offer soon, so keep an eye out for more information to come.
