Congratulations to all the Masters competitors & medal winners in the Boat area on Saturday the 15th of February at Aldinga Beach .Henley Boaties continue to improve in all areas of competition. We have masters crews that dedicate their entire season training toward the Masters competition including regular gym, ergos,Boat sessions. This makes the medals all the more special after all the hard training.
The masters is always a special day as the mateship on the beach is friendly, everyone talks about the old days but the competition in the water still serious among crews. Special mentions to all the medal winners, Hurricanes great result ” a Bronze” rowing against open women personal ,Old Dogs rowed more like Young Pups & smashed the opposition every race! great to see VC Peter Oborn back in the Boat !
Silver Backs have not missed a carnival all season & deserved their Gold .
Simon Mitris has swept the Silver backs for much of the season at early morning training & swept the sweeps crew at his first carnival ! Well done sweeps for all having a Row at States! , well done Simon always great to see new sweeps at the back of the Boat.
First season rowers & medal winners Shannon Asa ,Lyndall Sharp, Katie, Rae & Fazz “the Sirens” have trained all season for their gold medal.
The Blues made the final in 180’s ! a pretty good effort for first season rowers .
Good luck to all masters competitors in other events, hopefully see some boaties compete in some beach, craft & water events.
Thanks to all the masters that helped pull the crews together for another terrific 2014 masters states for Henley SLSC.
Regards Jamie Butterfield.
