Message for all members currently on patrols or interested in joining!
To help with planning for the 2017/2018 season, please can all SRC and Bronze proficient members let me know the following:
- Are you happy to stay with your existing patrol, and/or continue volunteering as part of the junior water cover team?
- If not, would you prefer to move to a different team (which one and reason – e.g. to be with a friend)?
- Would you be interested in being part of a team who are only rostered for Sunday patrols and occasional public holiday cover (i.e. not Saturdays)?
- Is there any specific training you would like to complete to help support your patrol/junior water cover team. e.g. ATV, Advanced Resus, IRB Crew, IRB Driver?
- Are you keen to take on a leadership role within a Patrol Team?
Very importantly, if any members reading this are considering taking SLSA awards and joining one of our amazing patrol groups, please let myself, Pete Oborn (Club Captain) or Paul Leonard (Chief Instructor) know. We will be happy to chat about opportunities to get involved at Henley 🙂

To comply with Government legislation in relation to child protection, the Henley SLSC have elected to support the ‘NO MOBILE PHONES‘ policy in our club’s change rooms, whereby no mobile phones are to be used in either the male or female change rooms. This rule is primarily to prevent the taking of photos without a person’s knowledge or permission, as unfortunately there have been instances reported in other organisations where inappropriate photos have been taken and then posted online. This sort of activity is a criminal offence, so to avoid any such incidents occurring at Henley SLSC, we seek everyone’s cooperation in supporting this initiative. |

Congratulations to these fantastic young men who successfully completed their bronze medallion award in late April at Henley. Brian Kabangu and James Karmand can’t wait to join a patrol team and are also keen to compete next season. Thank you Shannon Asa, Regan Smallacombe, Dale Atkinson and Roy Menner for all the amazing work you do with the On The Same Wave program. |

Grievance Officers
Have A Problem?
Remember, if you are angry, worried or upset about something that has happened at the club, you do not need to put this in writing to have any of the Grievance Officers follow it up. Simply, contact any Officer and talk to them. Also, we are fortunate that we have a Club Chaplin in Bruce Rankin, so if you are angry, worried or upset about something that has happened outside the club, you can contact Bruce and talk to him. New Officer
With Tayla Page moving to America to help build a bridge, we have filled her Grievance Officer vacancy with Skye Daveron. If you feel you need to contact Skye with a grievance, her contact details are – 0403651023 & skyedavoren@gmail.com
As with all contacts to grievance officers, please make it clear at the start of the conversation that you are making contact because you have a grievance or complaint. Club Chaplin
Bruce’s role is different to that of a Grievance Officer as he is a neutral person to whom anyone can talk to.These do not need to be club issues. They can be things that are going on in your everyday life.
He can…
…provide support for club personnel, including coaches and committees
… provide support through difficult life circumstances
…help with grief and loss, trauma, sickness and injury, ethical questions, club issues or home and personal issues.
