Overview:
This award further develops patrolling members skills, knowledge and expertise in conducting and coordinating patrols. This award was previously known as the “patrol captains” award
Audience:
A requirement for any member who is a patrol captain, vice captain or future leader of beach patrols.
Pre-requisites:
- Be a minimum of 17 years of age.
- Hold a current Bronze Medallion
- Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue)
Content:
The content of the course is currently being updated.
Duration:
Approximately 4 hours of practical training including theory components. Members are assessed throughout the course.
Timing:
Courses are generally conducted in 1 session (weekend morning).

To remain current an annual proficiency update is required.
