Henley Surf Lifesaving Club is a not-for-profit organisation.
We are very grateful for our supporters and grant providers who ensure we are able to maintain vital lifesaving skills and provide services for our community.
Today we’re saying a huge thank you to the Australian federal government and Bendigo Community Bank – West Beach.
Surf Life Saving Australia – Beach Safety Equipment Fund 2022/23
Through the past season Henley SLSC was fortunate to receive vital safety equipment including equipment for the beach, first aid supplies and training equipment.
Through Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) Beach Safety Equipment Fund, the Australian government has provided funding which has resulted in the following additions to club equipment:
- “Man Overboard” water rescue manikin for IRB training
- Black and white craft cans
- Infant and baby CPR training manikins
- Emergency tourniquet trainers
- Beach flags and rubber dive bricks
- A variety of First Aid supplies
Henley SLSC thanks the Australian government for providing the funding through SLSA.
SLSA has also secured bipartisan support from both major parties to continue this funding until 2024/25, we look forward to using this for other vital safety equipment through this period.
Bendigo Community Bank, West Beach – Community Grants Program
Bendigo Community Bank, West Beach has been an amazing supporter of Henley SLSC for close to 20 years and they have continued this support during season 2023/24.
Through the Bank’s Community Grants Program, the club submitted an application. With the support of Matt Tscharke, Community Relationship Manager at Bendigo Community Bank West Beach, this application was successful.
As a result, we have taken possession of two pop up shelters. These will be incredibly valuable in providing cover and protection from the sun on the beach, and for volunteers cooking barbecues (a vital source of fundraising for the club).
Thank you to Matt for his and the Bank’s ongoing support.
When you have the opportunity, pop in to see Matt and the branch staff at West Beach to say thank you.
